SQUARESPACE WEB DESIGN

This project was a redesign of Kimberly Kelly’s Interior design site, intended to increase the ease of use and overall design simplicity.

Working directly with Kimberly, we built a site using squarespace that presents her work with beautiful imagery and simple navigation.

Consultation

Conversations between me and the client developed ideas of what the goals were for the site, with reference to aesthetic and user journey.

Sketches

After deciding the goals for the site design, sketches of the layout and placement of images was created.

Implementation

After the layout was finalized, the images provided were implemented into the site.

Consultation

Having a conversation with Kimberly, we assessed and made decisions of the issues we sought to target with the site design. From this, I created an information architecture to guide the design and create an easy to use and effective site journey.

Sketches

Working off of the user journey, I sketched out the general layout template for each of the pages, developing a clear plan for pulling the given images and copy into Squarespace to start developing the site.

Working off of given references, I leaned into a simple, image heavy design focusing on highlighting the spaces displayed and focusing less on text.

Development

From the sketches, I took the imagery provided and implemented them into the site, working with the client to develop a narrative structure of a house walk through and implement the images that most spoke to the individual home designs. Within the intro and about page, simplicity reigned supreme, following a simple layout structure to display imagery and information effectively and efficiently.

The design underwent several rounds of revisions, arriving at a final design implementation.

Implementation

Once the layout had been implemented fully and approved, a custom domain was implemented, completing the site.
